Procon chose iOnline to give all its websites a stronger dynamic. This they succeeded in achieving and have given us a more professional looking web site. The design process was relatively pain free, and the end result was better than what we had originally expected. iOnline have a good system for keeping on top of any problems or design adjustments that need to be made. Over the last 2 years we have had almost no down time, and the resulting traffic has been impressive. We were so impressed we even moved our web hosting to them, and have not regretted doing so.

Some people think that pretty animated pictures make for a good website...others are looking for specific functional (programming) solutions. Figure out what is required, who will do what, the recurring costs, and how flexible the result (how long for content/structure change, and at what cost). I rank good working relationships at the top of my list, and many will crumble in the face of money haggling when development hits trouble through misunderstanding on either side (or both sides). I've been project manager for a recently launched website redevelopment...see www.independentsports.com.au. I did the scoping, defining functional subtasks, writing the RFI and comparing submitted proposals, recommendations to the client, seeing through the technical development and testing, and training the users. The winning proposal was from the Gold Coast's iOnline in Varsity Lakes as: 1) their pricing was the best out of 5 candidate companies (including the then incumbent); 2) they alone displayed a solid understanding of the client's unique organisational structure and business goals, which meant we never hit the classic "that's not what you said" or "I thought this is what you meant" (which lead to ballooning costs, or the original bid price is inflated to cover such anticipated costs for extra work); 3) their platforms provide the maximum opportunity for content/operational control by the client (as opposed to built-in apron strings for ongoing maintenance revenue common to many web designers/developers); 4) their documentation was succinct and 5) their Terms & Conditions were a SINGLE PAGE of clear English (a deal breaker if ever there was one!). The technical staff have proved to be realistic, productive and fun to work with. The result was within budget and on time. And the ultimate accolade? ...the client was over the moon!
